i expect he was trying to find the hybrid mode and was blinded by thought

 

I hope this causes the price to bottom out long enough for me to buy one...

But it is a tragedy. He didn't invent it, he just owned the company from what I read.

(What IS ironic is writing an entire song about one word and getting the definition of the word wrong).

I have a Segway, and I have a theory about how he drove off the cliff. If you're riding parallel to an incline, you're OK so long as the incline is below a certain angle. If it gets too steep, the Segway TURNS DOWNHILL! Once this started to happen, it was probably too late to stop. Don't ride a Segway near a cliff!
