I'm looking to buy CoastalTech's Ultimate Lockpick 3+ for my Touring Prius and I am wondering if anyone here has done the work themselves, and if there is an installation guide around, I searched and could not find it.
It comes with instructions (with pics) and is very easy to install -- just disconnect the existing plugs, plug them in the Lockpick, and plug the Lockpick back where the original plugs went.
I heard that disassembly of the dashboard is not required, that you do it through the center speaker behind the MFD is that correct?
I did the install today. It might be possible to do via the center speaker, I suspect it will be much harder than removing the dashboard. I don't think you can reach the back of the radio to connect the audio part. The directions say it's optional to fully remove the radio part, but I couldn't tell what I was doing, so I removed it. Trying to fish things down from the top will make it harder.
does anyone have a photo of the lock pick? I am just wondering how big the unit that you plug into the back of the mfd is...
