I have a new Chevy Silverado Hybrid pickup. I got 19.1mpg on my first tank. Let me clarify that this is the 4WD version so I feel pretty good about my mileage right off the bat. I am not a rookie hypermiler however. Been a member on priuschat for about 3 years and we have an 07 Gen II with 86K on her. While I don't try to grab hugh gas saving numbers, I do try to get respectable numbers and we love our Prii. I know I will love my truck as well. But I am driving in the blind so to speak. I need a great forum to gleen info from. I have found nothing and I am hoping some savvy member here can direct me to a place I can find knowledge within. I need info on wheels, tires, lockpicks, similarities, etc. I know about the coastal e lockpicks for the GM products as I have them already on my Prii. But I want to know value and useability info. Hoping you can help!

    Hi Mel -

Have you have any luck finding a hybrid pickup forum?

Is there even enough GM hybrid trucks on the road for a dedicated forum?

If you are still looking for a site, gassavers.org won't have specifics on your hybrid, but there are a fair number full size truck drivers there.

Never mind, looks like the original web site I was recommending has been taken over by spammers and overseas scammers!

This is a really good Forum for GM Trucks. I was a member here when I had my 2007 Sierra, good group of folks here...

The OP was from last year.
    :p
And anyway, only GM called the Silverado a hybrid. All it did was turn the ICE off at red lights ... just like you can do on any car with the ignition key ... which I guess GM would call a "manual-hybrid"

    The 2005 -2008 Silverado was a Start-Stop pickup, but the 2009 was a 2 mode hybrid.

Yes, the 2009, 2010, 2011 GMC Sierra Club and Chevy Silverado Club both come in a 2 mode hybrid version. Improvement in gas mileage over the non-hybrid is pretty impressive. Of course, it's not a Prius, but it's good to see that hybrid technology can be applied to other segments successfully. It would be even nicer to see this type of vehicle offered in a PHEV, but I doubt we'll see that.

Even here you run into folks who resist the idea of Hybridizing all segments, I never understood why they want all hybrids to be tiny passenger vehicles.
