ZOsizzle, :welcome: to PRIUSchat We've had a large number of threads and interest in the Hymotion conversions. Even those of us who aren't all that savvy on things electrical have picked up some basic concepts. And there are folks here who are intimately familiar with all things electrical. You'll need to provide specific information on the system in question to get any serious interest. Here's my woefully incomplete list, I'm sure others will add to it: Asking Price Miles/time the system was in use Cell readings Recalls and updates Problems requiring installer's action Charger used Is any manufacturer warranty transferrable
good points Rokeby, I am considering doing a conversion on my 09 Prius, and did not even consider those questions (on used equipment). My biggest drawback was I am on the opposite coast (San Diego) and I am at least a few months away from having the cash. I am leary at this point about if it is financially worth it. I plan to hang on to my car for several years.
Hi guys, the easiest way is to go the the hymorion website, all of the details and specs can be found there and explained far better than I am able to! I do not had enough posts yet to be able to provide the link so if somebody wouldn't mind posting it that would be great! The system has been installed in the car for 14k miles As far as I know the warranty will still apply as long as an authorized dealer does the reinstall As for price I am not really sure what to ask because I have nothing to compare it to! The typical rule I have used in the past is 50% of the new value. So I guess I will start at 5k Thanks!!
yes this is my car, considering selling the hymotion separate from the car because I think I will get more out of it that way. Thanks!
Huh. Your way deinstall and reinstall costs are additional. So far as I know, part of hymotion stays in the old car, so that is an additional cost, too.
When hymotion removes it they leave nothing behind, and when it is reinstalled they skip no steps and everything is done as if it was a new install. They will charge the potential buyer 1k to install it. So yes that is extra and needs to be considered by a serious buyer when making an offer.
Are you the original purchaser of the Hymotion kit? Is it registered in your name with Hymotion? If so, I'm interested and I live an hour away. I'd like to see it. Thanks,
The warranty on the Hymotion site says it covers transfer of vehicle (with kit installed) ownership once, but not transfer of product to another vehicle. Can you clarify this? Thanks,
