Curt Hitch Released for ordering 2010 Prius

Anybody use loctite?

 

2" hitch found, installed. Discussion is on here, search it.

 

rrolff - did you ever get an answer as to whether this is a 2" receiver? If not, we would have to use an adapter and extend the whole rack out more behind the car. (Even a "little" more would not be good as it was out plenty far on our 2005 with a 2" receiver.) Did you get this one?

 

??????Who found a 2" hitch and installed it? Have searched many forums on this and have not found where anyone has installed a 2" hitch and reported on what kind it was and how it worked. I would like positive answer from someone who has done this. What kind was it? How is it working out? Was the installation easy? From what I can find out here and on the Curt website, this Curt hitch is only a 1 1/4" receiver - not acceptable. Quality S makes a 2", but still looking for a report from someone who is actually using one. Please reply only if you can answer the above questions with helpful information. Thanks.

Thinking about getting the same Curt hitch for my Prius. However, I may want to occasionally rent a 5'X8' trailer from Uhaul for towing.

The u-haul trailer uses a 2" attachment. The curt hitch is 1 1/4". So, will an accessory like this be safe to use in order to accommodate the u-haul trailer?

I worry the uhaul won't let you off the lot with a trailer if you show up with a Prius

 

First - why would you get a 1.25" when there are 2" Class III hitches now available???

Second, UHaul will look up your car, and I doubt they will rent to you. Even if they would, you'd need the lighting harness....
