I loaded iOS 4.1 and can confirm that the track forward/back buttons work on the steering wheel. I was disappointed though that no track info or new buttons are displayed on the Nav screen. Also holding down the Forwad/Back steering wheel button does not fast forward/rewind. So basically the only thing we got out of this was the two steering wheel buttons now work. I was holding out on buying the VAISTech interface hoping that I would have a more thorough Bluetooth Nav screen interface but it doesn't look like we'll get that from Apple
The GM (gold master) release is available. This version will become the regular release if nothing major is found (not likely).
iOS 4.1 is available for download from iTunes right now. So, it has track skipping and nothing else. They are doing baby steps. They may add FF RW in iOS5 in 18 months and track info display in iOS6 in 2013.
I agree, I was disappointed to see the Nav screen didn't reflect the audio control. Question though -- which version of AVRCP does the Prius Gen III support? I don't know if this is an implementation issue in the vehicle, the device, or both?
Very disappointing to read this as well as experience it. I loaded up my 3GS with 4.1 with hopes of getting what I have always wanted with my iPhone and Prius. Bummer is all I can say. I could have just seen a wonderful use of the large nav screen display with my all of my iphone lists, songs, etc.. Is it the phone implementation or are there other phones that do work? --Mickey
I'm thinking it's the iPhone. I thought the Prius supports 1.3 so other phones that do have 1.3 should be able to display TEXT.
