At 28,000 miles the OEM tires still had good tread for a number of months. Had always kept tire pressure at 38 front and 36 back. But a blowout forced me to get all new tires today. Got the Michelin Hydroedge. Any opinions about pressure by those running these tires? Thanks
I just pumped mine up to the same 42/40 I ran the Integrities at and have been happy with ride and performance. If you prefer the softer ride of the 38/36 you can always go with that. Be prepared for a pretty hard hit on mileage for the first 1000+ miles, but they break in and perform only slighly worse than the LRR Integrities with much better grip and handling.
hey, quick question. I had a tire blowout once in the rain, and it was one of the scariest experiences of my life. this happens to be a fluke, or crud in the road, right? or will i feel much better if i just buy the hydroedge up front? Rainy travel = my worst nightmare. one other question - if the stock tires are new when they get pulled off my car, can i give them to another local prius driver?
I'm running 42/40. They ride well; noise about the same. Great on wet pavement. 05-BC - Port Angeles, WA
