I've found several threads regarding dash rattle (squeak, noise, rattling, etc.) but no definitive answer other than "wait until they issue a service bulletin" and/or "turn up the radio." Is there anything more recent that someone can share? I don't want to take mine in until I know there's a solution I can suggest. Thanks in advance!
This shows you Toyota's regression in quality. I drove with my brother in law in his Ford Escape Hybrid 08, he purposely hitting every pothole/road bump to show how tough the Ford was. Not a SINGLE rattle. The dashboard felt like it was made of plastic that had titanium industrial strength...not cheap bending plastics like in the Prius. Before this, he drove a 06 Prius.....it was falling apart after 2 years (doors creaking, both axles need to be replaced, battery issues). It's been 2 years since he got the Ford (he doesn't care about potholes, just drives straight over them) and it's in perfect condition. The Prius would literally fall apart. Being inside the ford, the whole thing felt like a "giant brick"...nothing was shaking/rattling. Being inside the Prius, various things around you start rattling/creaking.
I'm not much of a believer in anecdotal evidence. Ford has done a nice job improving its quality, according to reported defects per vehicle.
It's not anecdotal evidence... I've driven in Ford Focus 08, Ford Escape 08, Prius 06, 2x Prius 10....and the fords blow the Prius out of the water in "part quality". The plastic in the Fords is strong compared to the Prius. The Prius plastic easily bends and feels like it is not secured properly. Being inside the fords, every part is so secured and strong that it feels like a giant indestructible brick.
seems that doing yourself the work of installing rubber pads it's brutal!! I was trying last weekends and no way man to much work ....meanwhile Toyota dealer laughing they told me my car is perfect no noises!! unbelievable
