[Updated w/ Video] Prius get a noisemaker option; Sounds like a spaceship

The cheesy spaceship sound available as the Prius option would embarrass me.
In my opinion the coolest sound for a car was Ridley Scott's spinner car sound from Blade Runner. I'd go for that, or the Futuristic sound from the halosonic video.
Don't get me wrong, I kind of enjoy sneaking up on obese folks walking into McDonalds, but feel a bit regretful afterwards.
I can see where complaints come from, and if I had a choice, I'd go for spinner any day.

Oh, I do so hope it's "The Jetsons" car sound!!!

 

They are getting on the right track, but what the Prius really needs is a much louder horn! So people who don't look and change lanes will hear the horn blasted at them! The factory horn just isn't heard by most, especially by pick-up truck drivers who have the sound systems cranked up!

 

This has to be the most stupid idea since the Edsel. I wonder what the useful life will be prior to disconnection?

Two years ago, Lotus was issuing press releases showing a "Prius" with a 'noise maker.' They were claiming it would be a future profit center. It was a bogus claim then but now the $148 price of the Toyota option punctures that claim.

I suspected Lotus was just a front for GM and their anti-hybrid campaign. Now that GM has gone bankrupt and the old management has been and is being purged, I suspect the Lotus funding has dried up.

Customizable ring tones. You could buy them through Toyota's iTunes-like computer program for $5.00 each, or you can buy them through your local dealer for $55 each.

This would go over HUGE in Japan. Heck, charge double for the spaceship tune and make the default tune play "I love what you do for me - Toyota!" :cheer2:

 

That is terrible. We need less noise not more. Please don't add terrible noises to these great cars.

 

Option 1: Just crank up the radio and play some obnoxious song.

Option 2: The sound of flatulence.

Option 3: The sound of an unmufflered Harley. My favorite.
