They're transferable if your previous HOV-stickered hybrid is declared a total loss. I've seen a couple myself.
Correct! It's a small loophole that not many people know about. They changed the law a couple of years ago. For awhile, there was a run on Prius with carpool stickers and salvage titles. Haven't seen many of those lately though. New law was just passed yesterday spelling out the next generation of carpool sticker privileges in CA for electrics and plug-ins . heard the new prius is eligiable. is this true? i've driven in carpool with chp just looking at me and driving by, talk about a sweating bullets. thought about placing small LA LAkers stiker with blurry letters to pass.
The new Prius is not eligible... until they come out with a plug-in version, and that may be eligible.
It could stolen or a fake sticker, I read somewhere that they were taking a photo and printing it out on sticker paper.
While that's possible, there's no reason to believe that as the 2010 Prius can indeed get the HOV sticker under the right circumstance.
lol. Why sweat bullets if you are doing something right? NOT. CHP probably on a doughnut run which was more important. Blurry letters will only be good until July 2011. It's not worth the $400+ ticket. Sad reading for the hybrids and HOV. Politics at work. CarpoolHybrids
I'm confused as well. Tonight I passed by and saw a parked 2010 prius with yellow stickers. The sequence number on the yellow stickers was over 100,000. I'm confused because I though they only gave out 85k?
