Does anyone have experience with Altimax Artic 185/65 R15.880 winter tires? I can buy a set that have been used one winter... New a set of 4 costs $264 at tirerack (+ $50 shipping = $ 314), I could offer half of that. Am I now being cheap and could I get "much better" winter tires for my 15 inch stock wheels for a little more?
Not exactly the same thing but, I purchased 4-215/60R-16 General Altimax Arctic studded snow tires from Tirerack last year for my 09 TCH. Only have used them for one winter but they were great. Have about 5,000 miles on them but so far no problems and great in the snow, both traction and stopping. I did take about a 7-10mpg hit on mileage. But I expected that with winter temps, the drag of a studded snow tire and driving in the snow. In my situation I need snow tires. I would by them again. Rick
