A year or so ago I got a nail in my tire and the garage that fixed it never gave me my spare back. After I finally noticed this, they denied having it. So I've been living without a spare since then. Yesterday though the inevitable happened and I got another flat. So of course it is a much bigger pain in the butt than it ever should have been. I'm determined to never let this happen again. To get a new spare from my local dealer they want about $250 for the whole thing. (rim & tire) That seems pretty steep, so I have been trying salvage yards. No luck so far in finding another spare. Does anyone know where I could get another spare at a more reasonable cost? I live in SE PA. Thanks! Mark
Salvage yeard is proabably still your best bet. You could go with a full-size spare, but it would probably not fit properly in the spare compartment.

I think the spare is the same as a Corolla uses. It can't be that difficult to find a Corolla spare...
I don't think so. I have a 06 Carolla spare that don't use (use a real spare). I would be happy to send it for shipping fee, but measured it against new Prius spare, and total diameter was about 1 inch less. Chris
Spare Tire, Rim & Jack if Anyone Needs Them If anyone needs a spare tire (with rim), jack or back area cover for 2006 Prius, I have one of each that i will sell VERY cheap. I had an accident, the car was trashed, but the spare was "spared" as were the other parts in the rear deck area.

That doesn't really matter, the whole tire is smaller than your normal tire anyway (hence the caution about going over 40 mph, etc.). As long as the lug nuts are in the same geometry and it fits in the spare wheel well, that's all you need.
