In terms of paying more for white... this is really a non-issue in my opinion. I had no problem getting the upcharge waived. If a dealer wants to sell, he'll lop off the $250, no problem.
Don't get red. The Prius isn't a sports car. Don't try to think it is by choosing red. Red is also the first color to fade. I don't like the 2010 dark grey either. It looks like dark clay in water. In my opinion the best colors of 2010 are silver, white, or black.
No I looked at it multiple times of the day. I really wanted red but it wasn't red enough. It was bland for my tastes. I wanted like a red you see on s2ks or MBZ c classes. A sharp piercing red which the prius red is not.
same issue here, but im between white or winter grey, but no more light grey inside are available with winter grey and i dont like it with dark grey inside. but white and dark grey interior is nice but too common i think!
Personally I think toyota did a fine job with the Barcelona red. Prius is not a sports car, so a bright red would not be appropriate for a family sedan. And the Barcelona has just enough metallic IMO. I've seen my car next to other red vehicles in a parking lot think it's great. However - one can't beat the white with solar package.
I do not know...I think my favorite color on the car just might be the red. I like the white, but it does loose some of the car's lines and dimensions. Modern paints, provided you wash and wax them regularly really don't have fading as an issue...
Did Toyota drop the plain 'White' Prius? I could have sworn white was being offered (in addition to Blizzard Pearl) when I bought mine last year but now the website doesn't show white. I wonder if I can find my old Prius brochure. Weird.
Thanks for the opinions guys, sadly there is only one model offered in mexico and it doesn't have a solar roof... While i like red i think im leaning towards white because red is too much of a look at me color for a car that doesn't really need any attention. I'm not surr which white color is offered in mexico though.. I thought it was just regular white??
I bought mine a month ago, I thought there were several refrigerator white Prii on the lot but maybe they were Blizzard Pearl? White is no longer listed on Toyota's build your own Prius page. Edit: I just dug out my brochure I got in late June 2010. It has a date 2009 on it and it doesn't list white either. Look like I mistook Blizzard Pearl for Refrigerator White.
I say red. It's not an arrest me red which I prefer but it's better than white, IMHO. Then again both of MY cars are red....some say I'm boring. I'm thinking silver or winter gray or whatever it's called. I just need to get to the dealer to make it happen. MY wifes is blue so I can't have that.
thats the thing, I want this car because I love the low profile aspect of it and white seems like the perfect color for that but.... it's the same color of my wife's Audi A3
Go with what you really like. Why does your wife's car colour affect your own car's colour decision? Just pick the best for your own car. You're going to have to live with the car for many years. Same colour with your wife's car only show that you're both very compatible
I recently bought Red (Prius III Nav+Solar) and have gotten positive reactions. Admittedly, it can look a bit bland in certain lighting conditions, but in direct sunlight it's very sporty and bright. My '04 Prius was Seaside Pearl (blue) and it had a chameleon quality to it that caused it to look significantly different in various lighting conditions. I think my new Barcelona Red has a similar aspect (probably due to the metallic flecks). I can't say that I've ever seen that luster in my wife's white Camry. So, I'd recommend Red--especially since you're leaning that way.
I bought the Black V and to me it was the best looking color, but you must be willing to spend some time keeping it up
