How does the top attach? I have one from a previous Camry, but could not figure out how to hang it in the Prius!
The original hooks did have a problem as they caused panel separation for some owners. Toyota modified the kit -- here is the "new" Toyota clip, which is installed by removing a bolt, putting the clip on it, and replacing the bolt. And, it doesn't get in the way of the cargo area cover. Here's a picture of the new clip:
I had removed the cargo net from my Subaru Impreza Outback. The Subaru mounting bolts had not been used. I replaced the regular bolt where the tonneau cover fits with those bolts, set them so the "tee" is at about a 45 degree angle inward and can mount the net and the tonneau cover perfectly. I bought the cargo net at Sunrise Toyota on Long Island last week and it doesn't come with the clip pictured in the early post that allows you to remove the side screw and place the clip in so it can be secured with the "existing" hardware. It has its own hardware which requires drilling into the side panel. I would like to know where I can get just the "new" clips since I now have the net with the "wrong" hardware. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Did you by this cargo kit which came with the new clips from your local Toyota dealership? When did you buy it? Thanks.
Yes, and I just spoke to the parts department at the dealership. They confirmed I was probalby given the wrong net. They clearly knew about the issue with the old net. All I will need to do is bring the old one back and they will give me a new one with the clips that secure with the existing hardware in the back/sides of the cargo area. Funny stuff. Thanks.
From my understanding you can't get just the clips. I am sure you can retro fit something that can be held with the existing screws. I just dont have a good suggestion for you.
