I'm in a new member and just like to say 'Hi' to everyone on the PriusChat forum. Traded my 2000 Maxima for a 2010 Prius III last month. I've been driving it everyday and loving it more every single day. The fuel economy (20mpg --> 50mpg) is much improved and I think I'm saving almost $100 in gas per month. I'm still learning how to maximize the gas mileage and the mpg for my first 3 tanks (as displayed on the HSI) are: 1. 47mpg 2. 51mpg 3. 53mpg I guess this is not bad for a newbie!

Welcome! I traded my '02 Maxima for a '08 Prius. I miss the "guts" of the Maxima but I love seeing how many mpg's I can get!
I hear you. Gotta miss the power and acceleration of that VQ engine though. But yeah i used to go 250 miles on a tank city driving in my infiniti, filling 15 or so gallons of premium gas every 2 weeks. My prius reads 1750 miles on the ODO, and i've filled only 32 gallons total of gasoline. In my old car, that much gasoline would've cost $10 more, and gotten me maybe 800 miles of driving if i was lucky. Welcome to the family! The family of we fill less gas and drive further than everyone else hahaha
Yea, I missed the acceleration with the Maxima too but the gas mileage is much improved and save $$$$. I also got my Windows Tinted with Pinnacle 30. I will post some pics once I have time to wash the car and take some pictures. It definitely makes a huge difference especially with 90+ temp. this weekend.
Welcome, and nice mpg numbers! When your new ride's motor gets broken in, your numbers will go up even higher. Oh! ... and Yes, the blue color on the Gen's II & II is a great. .
