This is his second thread. There is a high probability that he doesnt need it.

His 12v died after sitting for 5months, and for whatever reason cannot jump it. I think he did jump it, because the MFD came on showing the HV battery at 1bar. But it came on in READY from what I understand. So he just needs to drive it around.

It is a special charger built for authorized Toyota repair function.
It is not sold at any generic stores.

The car will recharge HV battery itself. You don't need a high voltage charger because the car has built in it already.

You HV battery is not dead. It still has about 45% charge left. Let the car recharge itself.

 

He obviously doesn't understand the words that y'all have told him. He said he bought a US car and exported it to his country, the manual is going to be in english. It's probably very confusing given his poor english on here. post up a simple pictogram thingy, picture of jumper cables on the battery in the trunk, then a picture of turning on car, then taking off the leads.

 

also, if you notice in his pictures, his 12v battery is not really hokked up. he is using the trucks battery to hook to his cars leads.

 

The engine doesnt have a normal 12V starter. It uses the MG to start the car. I think his problem could be that the HV battery doesn't have enough juice to run the MG to start his engine.

Would be best to simply tow it to Turkey or Iran and get an actual Toyota dealership to HV charge if that is the issue.

You're right. In the middle picture (back in post #9 he's got the battery cables completely off of the 12V battery & only those are hooked up to his jumper cables (so he's NOT charging his 12V at all). This would allow him to see the MFD screen (as pictured in the 3rd photo in post #9) & start the car, but as soon as he would shut it off to re-connect the car's cables to his 12V battery, he's hooked back up to an UNCHARGED dead battery that won't restart his car. He either has to charge the 12V battery directly (since he already has access to it) or button everything back up & charge it through the jumper lug inside the under-hood fuse box.

I too am a little confused about what year Prius Ali has, but I think I might have it figured out. Ali says in his profile that his car is a 2010 Prius V, but in one of his posts in another thread, it sounds like it was damaged in an accident. As ken1784 points out in his post #17, it looks like Ali's Prius is a 2nd generation & Ali's username ends in 2004 so maybe he owns a 2004 Prius. Maybe this one was damaged (& that's why it sat for 5 months) & he's got a 2010 Prius V on order.

If that is a 2004 Prius in the 1st picture in his post #9, I can't tell if that 12 V battery (in the 2nd photo) is an original Prius battery (I've never looked at that battery in my own 2005) or an after market substitue (it's not like he can just go to a neighborhood Toyota dealer & get the proper one). Regardless, it looks like a new 12 V battery is in order rather than trying to charge what may potentially be a totally useless 12 V presently in the car, but he surely isn't in any way re-charging his present 12 V battery the way the jumpers are hooked up to only the disconnected car's cables. The only thing he may charge that way is the high voltage battery if his car actually starts & he leaves it running long enough. Oh, and if he leaves the jumper cables hooked up that way, he may also charge the 12 V battery of the donor vehicle.

And to the last 2 posters, I don't think he has a high voltage battery issue at all, since you can see one battery bar in photo #3 in his post #9. That should surely be enough to start his ICE (unless he can't get into "Ready" status.

your 12v battery is in the trunk.. under the floor on the far right hand side. (pull apart the floor to see it)

do no disconnect this battery. jump start it directly connected. while hooked up jump inside the car and turn it on. ("Ready" will light up on the dash) you will see that the Hybrid Battery (a huge 250v battery) is low.. that's ok.. the engine will recharge it. the engine shuts off when there are at least 2 bars on your display. to get a fuller battery, drive it.

your display for the hybrid battery will change all the time. low means you get less power.. full means you get more. gas mileage will change too.

if your hybrid battery is too low, the car will not turn on... or if it does, the engine will run at a really high rpm to charge it.

if you do not want to crawl in the back of the car.. pop the hood, and jump start there (uncover the black fuse box and connect the + to the jumper under the red cap) connect the - to the bolt on the front strut tower.

make sure you hold the brake down as you press the START button (or ON.. whichever it is)

you'll see "READY" on the dash...
