As there have been a few reports of people not being able to use the iPod integration with their 2010 Prius non-nav after the iOS4-upgrade, I just wanted to share my experience with you today when I finally got my iPhone 3GS working in the Prius again. Here is what I did: 1. Updated iPhone to iOS4.0.1 via iTunes. (Don't know if this had any impact, more for the sake of getting a good reset.) 2. Made another hard reset on the phone (home + power button for about 10 secs until Apple logo shows up.) 3. Turned on the car without touching brake pedal. 4. Connected the iPhone and played a song, showing error after a few seconds as usual. 5. Disconnected the phone. 6. Connected the phone again, noticed that this time it wouldn't even begin to charge the battery. 7. Disconnected the phone. 8. Turned off the Prius. 9. Turned on the Prius, again without touching the brake pedal. 10. Connected the phone - and this time, voila, it worked as it used to with the 3.x firmware. I don't know if this might work for you, but it did for me, and I thought I had tried everything. Please let me know how it goes! /Daniel
Wierd. I went to 4.0.1 with a 3GS and it never skipped a beat in the Prius. I've got a powered cradle and send the data over bluetooth though.
i thought ipod integration was only with the navigation package, no? can it be added aftermarket? i have a prius III with the jbl stereo, no nav. thanks
Perhaps this differs between EU and US? I live in Sweden and I have the iPod Integration Kit in mine, working through the USB-connector in the armrest. I have the JBL stereo as well.
