Prius OEM HID question

    Hey.. I have a Non-HID Prius (2007)

    My neighbor has a a set of headlights for an 06- with the bulbs and ballasts.. If I were to buy them from him... would it be plug and play?

    The car has the obvious standard h4 plugs for the standard headlights..

    Any info would be appreciated!

    No, it wouldn't be PnP. HID lights have a leveling sensor your car doesn't have, and the H4 plug won't interface with the HID plug.

    You would probably be able to wire it up and ignore the leveling motors. I'm sure you can manually align them properly to not blind oncoming traffic.

    I have OEM HID headlamps and I'm contemplating buying new Halogen headlamps for the sole purpose of retrofitting...

    Where is the sensor located? I assumed it was contained with in the headlamp unit.

    I was under the impression the leveling sensor was in the back of the car by the trunk.
