Wondering if someone who has purchased from Longo Toyota in Southern California can post the FEES that were charged for their Prius? Or FEES from any other SoCal dealer selling at MSRP would be helpful too. Thanks!
I'm looking at my contract and I'm not sure what fees you are asking about. Here's what I see on mine: Document preparation fee $45 License fee $202 California tire fee $5 Those are the only fees on my contract. Is that what you were asking about? FYI, I bought mine at Crown Toyota in Ontario, CA.
I purchased mine on July from Longo Toyota. I paid pretty much the same fees as seeh2o. How much are they charging you?
Our company recently ordered two 06' Priuses from Longo Toyota. While we haven't taken delivery as of yet, the salesman quoted MSRP, no added dealer fees for an 06 in January (which is what we wanted due to the tax credits). I've found a couple of other dealers that may save $250-$350 on the car, but I was impressed to find a large S. Cal dealer offering the cars at MSRP (our local dealer is asking MSRP + $5k for an 05). Longo seems to be doing the right thing, and by selling their cars at MSRP, they're sure to have heavy demand which will only boost next years allocations. Our local dealer will continue to get 2-4 Prius's per/month, while Longo is getting 100+. -Mark
I haven't purchased yet, but the salesman I've been working with at Longo sent me this table of drive-off costs for 2005's: Code:         Package #1    Package #3    Package #6     MSRP      $22,651.00    $23,101.00    $27,066.00     Tax (7.75%)   $ 1,758.94    $ 1,793.82    $ 2,101.10     DMV Reg.    $  212.00    $  214.00    $  240.00     Ca. Tire Tax  $   8.75    $   8.75    $   8.75     Doc. Fee    $   45.00    $   45.00    $   45.00     -----------------------------------------------------------         Total      $24,675.69    $25,162.57    $29,460.85     The MSRPs include carpet floor mats and cargo mats. I don't know what happens if you say you don't want them.
Hey, you're right! I had always thought that the "Documentation Fee" was just another way for a dealer to sneak in a $45 charge, but Edmunds.com has a write up on it at Out The Door Price But I'm unsure if the state just limits the amount of the fee, and it goes to the dealer, or if its a fee that goes to the state. Anyone know?
here's another link on fees. hope it's correct: http://www.carmax.com/dyn/research/TaxTitl...xtitletags.aspx
The state of California regulates the amount that automobile dealers can charge for preparing and submitting the DMV paperwork. Yes, the dealer gets to keep fee. I, for one, am glad to pay $45 to avoid having to go to the DMV to register a new car.
