So, I got my dream car last night on a whim! I happened to be browsing yesterday online and after sifting through used Hyundais and Kias, I was like "why not?" and searched for a used Prius in my area. I've only wanted one for years... Up popped a 2008 with 80k miles (1-owner, someone really enjoyed driving it!) for $12,995. I don't mind the "high miles" for such a young car; it is in great shape, has so many extra features I don't even know what to do with them all. Our other vehicle is a 2003 Hyundai Elantra.. we traded in a 93 Ford Tempo for a whopping $200 when we got the Prius -definitely a step up. I'm hoping there are some other high-mileage Prius owners around here! So, here's my baby! It's even the perfect color! (Dealer photo).
Ditto. Kaye, I'm coming through Nebraska twice soon. What are your favorite attractions? Not sure where I'm slicing through, but two different north-south routes, so I'm pretty open. Thanks.
ksstathead: You can't go wrong with the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo! One of the best in the country! Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'm kind of in shock because everything happened so quickly with finding and purchasing the car. I'm still going "we have a Prius now..."
Re: Excited new owner Mine is a new 2010 style II. Congrats to you. Mine is a new 2010 type II & it is terrific! 54.8 on cruise control! Gas is of no consequence now. Enjoy!! LBD
My husband made fun of me when I said I felt like I was in some sort of club now that I got my Prius. Little does he know..! @Mark57: Apparently this change is exciting. However I am an atypical Nebraskan and I have no idea what is going on! Thank you for the warm welcome Just a warning now, I'm more of a lurker!
Lurkers are welcome too ~ Tell the hubby we don't pass Kool-aid around . . . but some of us ARE pretty nuts about our cars . . . even after half a decade ! .
Dang/............at 80K, she "aint" even broken in yet! welcome and you've made a great choice. cheers and you'll learn a lot here. I sure did!
