Your lease depends on how many miles, and how much they charge you for the car itself, not just the interest of the loan/lease. A 'Good Deal' is a perception, not reality if you don't know the cars cost to you. To compare lease deals take the total cost over the whole lease, the sum of all up-front costs and payments, and look at the features of the cars to be sure they compare. A Prius Five is better than a 3 model. Then if the mileage and term of the lease is identical you can compare the deals. The interest rate is hardly the proof of a good lease deal.

 

Mine was at .00008 with the rent charge only being 120 bucks. I'd like to trade in my Tacoma for another Prius (I'm really liking this car now) but I like the utility this pickup affords me. Also, I promised to drive it at least 200k miles. At 5 years, I'm barely over 60k so it will be a while before I get rid of it unless there's a hybrid version coming out soon.

I am new to this forum. Just leased a V w/ Nav yesterday, taking advantage of the "sales". MF=0.00022 offered with 2 years maintenance free. I think it is a pretty good deal. I traded my Audi A4 1.8T Quarto and really enjoy driving this new hybrid.

 

We did that back in June when I got 0% on the Prius, we also picked up a Rav4 lease so we would have a 4WD vehicle for my wife at around a .00058 or something money factor.

 

I don't notice a blind spot any worse than any other car. Just adjust the side mirrors properly (there is a post on this site somewhere) and you'll have no problems. The prius felt strange for a few weeks, esp with the bar in the back window, but you get used to it. Once you get used to the bar, the rear view isn't bad at all.

 

if we get the second dip of the recession, they'll probably get cheaper.

 

My last vehicle was a Murano so I can tell you as a Prius Owner now that You truly have no idea what a blind spot really can be! You can easily hide an 18 wheeler in the Murano's blind spot!

Having been a member of that forum as well I can honestly say that most Murano owners will agree that it owns the blindspot championship...oh the price we pay for style!

 

There was a great article today about how Toyota could be making a really stupid move by pumping and inflating the residual of their vehicles right now for all these great deals. When in effect it could royally backfire on them and these prius' we all leased at amazing rates will be worth WAY less than the projected residual values.

And at the 65-68% residual values they are projecting...yeah, I can buy into that theory. I guess we'll see in 3 years.

 

I'm just about in 3 years when I turn in my lease....and so is everyone one else who got an amazing deal this month. The used market is going to be flooded with them.

 

There's always some name for the current sales event. National Clearance, Spring into Summer, August Extravaganza... call it what you want. They will slow down sales on certain models by changing the promotions a little and increase what they want to by adding perks and changing up rates.

I'm pretty sure we'll see residuals drop a bit on most cars. Just a little here and there but enough to make sense. After all, 3 years from now, these are all going to be nearly 4 years old technically.

But, residuals are very reasonable considering what I see 3 yr old Prii selling for anyway. Unless gas drops to 75 cents a gallon, the residuals are realistic for 3-years down the road. There will be a lot of used Prius, yes, but there's always a need for cars that do 45-50 mpg.
