My dealer said that my car has made the next allocation. Does anyone know how long I'll have to wait? I'm hoping it will be an 05. Thanks!!
I've read elsewhere that the next allocation on Oct 17th will be 05's. Why are you hoping its an 05'? Paying msrp for a year old car doesn't seem like a good deal ot me. I told my dealer I would gladly take one of the 05's he has sitting on the lot, but at a discount since it is a year old essentially. He agreed it is stupid but the managers won't discount them even though it still takes a while to mvoe them around here...
I actually got a pretty good deal. It is $1000 below Edmunds price. Comes to $23,473 with tax, tags, everything for a #3 package.
Without knowing where you are located, it is hard to figure out how long it may take to truck your car from the port to the dealership.
Then the driving time should not matter. Your dealer should get it on the same day it is loaded on the truck at the port. At the most, it probably should not take more than a week after the ship docks.
It is hard to tell. Sometimes the cars are allocated while they are still at the factory. At other times they are allocated when they are on the high seas. Do you know when the boat is due at the harbor? There is a website that shows when the Toyota ships arrive and offload cars at various U.S. ports. Once the car is off the ship, it has to wait its turn to be loaded on the delivery truck. Most of the time that is by luck of the draw.
This is the link I have found. It seems to be the one I remember. However, for some reason, the English language pages are under construction: http://www.toyofuji.co.jp/english/haisen/haise_f.html
I just found the October/November North American Schedule: http://www.toyofuji.co.jp/ships/north_america.pdf
