I was responding to the comment below. My point was--no need to convert any user profiles, just have the 2011 model year have different model designations (words vs. roman numerals).

    Is that being picky?

    Prius Team,

The news on the '11 Prius is exciting. :cheer2:

Some of us are trying to look further ahead...

Can you offer any tid-bits on the Toyota-Tesla partnership to build a new
    RAV4-EV and possibly a Corolla-EV?

    Edit: Toyota USA Newsroom Release

Starting a new thread would do just fine. ;)

    Prius Team,

Can I ask the question as to what is the proper "Toyota Speak" for the different models?

Is my Prius a Prius III/Three or a Prius Package III/Three?

We had a poster that was really upset with his salesman wanting to use the term Package in front of the number when most of the Toyota literature did not. I know that the many salesmen that I talked to all referred to them as Package X.

Minor detail but I had to ask :)

How about Standart Daytime Running Lights, Auto Headlights, and turn lights on side mirrors? It is not much to ask, when Toyota offers these futures in other contries!:)

    What was the exciting part:confused:

Sounds like no fix for the ugly colour of the radio and HVAC controls

Will the radio show the whole song title? like my 2000 car?

AND WHEN IS VAN COMING OUT that would be exciting:D

Damn... I was hoping the "heh" after the winking emoticon would serve to strengthen my humorous tone in my reply. Clearly it didn't work :(.

Yeah I think that's what USB meant.. we'll have to add the "2,3,4,5" into the profile options.

They would be smart and use the Canadian naming

I guess I should have caught that, but didn't.

Even with emoticons, communicating and interpreting humor, sarcasm and other tones is imperfect at best.

At least I'm not picky... :D ;) :p

I was thinking the same thing. A few nomeclature changes (some of which seem unnecessary) and the addition of beige to one exterior color that didn't have it before doesn't exactly sound even mildly exciting, to me.

I wasn't expecting much but, at the very least, I was kind of hoping to see ATP (specifically, LKA) being available with Solar on the V (or Five, whatever the hell the top-tier Prius is going to be called now).

OTOH, it makes me glad I didn't wait and bought a 2010. And it is nice that Toyota saw fit to give PC first crack at the info (such that it is).

LOL! I wonder if it's more along the lines of some folks confusing the Roman numerals w/generations.

IIRC, I've seen some folks keep referring to the 2nd gen Priuses as Prius II and then post thier experiences w/their 2nd gen in a 3rd gen forum, but all along still using "Prius II" or "2009 Prius II". That really confuses potential buyers.

It's ok to post your 2nd gen experiences in other areas, just don't call a 2nd gen Prius a "Prius II", at least, not after the 2010 model naming was announced.

Glad to see that the Advanced Technology package is sticking around for another model year. Even with its low production numbers, I absolutely love the package. Well, maybe with the exception of the parking assist lol. It takes just too long for me to make it work, I can parallel park MUCH faster than setting it up.

Thanks for sharing the news Erica.

    AT Package

I'll absolutely second that sentiment. In a year, the only two times I've ever used the parking assistant is to show it to a friend. But the DRCC is worth every single penny I paid for it. I'd never buy another car that wasn't so equipped. IMHO the Lane Keep Assist is nice but not a necessity.

Sure. We just say it thusly: "Prius Three with Solar Roof Package". We kind of threw our sales people a curveball because usually different model numbers will have grade/trim names or engine/transmission differences. With Prius we don't have those, just the numerical reference. That's why you're having that argument about what a package is... sorry!

Well, our MY11 is what we call mostly "carryover". It was never planned to be that different. We tried to get some new colors but the factory simply did not have them available. Ultimately we will have a mid-cycle "refresh" (what we call a minor-change in Toyota lingo) in a future MY change that should be more exciting, so to speak.

Hmmmm.... those are great ideas ;)

    Simple change...

Here's what should be a simple request: I'm sure you've seen the many threads and many complaints about the seat-belt and reverse beep option. I'm sure you could eliminate much frustration and annoyance for many drivers (and, based on some comments, from some service departments also) if you made them user-changeable options.

Personally, I found the reverse beeping to be distracting. IMHO I'm far from alone.

So, does the Prius V have a sports suspension, compared to the other trim levels??

The Prius V/Five does not have a different set of shock absorbers. All trim levels have the absorbers that are the same as the European models.
