I'm in a 2007 model right now. What should I be looking for? Anything that should be a red flag? Please give me some input. Thanks!!!
You are in a 2007 what? A 2007 Prius? Is that what you are test driving, or coming from? As for what you should be looking for, what would you like? You should be able to find most of the vehicle at your local dealership now. If you specify more about what information you would like, we may be able to better assist you.
Make sure the brakes aren't making a squeaking (seal noise) when sitting still and applying them, or when you start the car. The 2004 to 2009 Prius are known for brake actuator problems, a repair bill of $2500.
Sorry, trying to type while DH driving. 2007 Prius, silver, 56,000 miles, one owner, carfax and autocheck checked out. What else shoud I look for? No brake noises.
That is a decent car. If carfax checks out, and the price is right, I would say go for it. Unfortunately, you are posting this in the 2010 Prius forum, and will not likely get the right responses by posting in the wrong area. Lots of us here love our Prius, and would probably tell you that if it checks out, and is priced appropriately, then welcome to them family!
should be smooth, quiet, peppy. battery indicator should be mainly between 1/2 and 3/4 full. you should see the power indicator arrows showing engine, engine and battery, battery only and regen at different times as you're driving. all the best!
Nope, not at all, I am happy to help. I was also suggesting, as time seemed to be important (as they were testing a car "RIGHT NOW", that they maybe would be better off searching there.. I thought I was actually being helpful? Are you Grumpy, GrumpyCabbie?
Well, for one thing, while typing quickly in the passenger seat I posted in the wrong forum. Oops, sorry! It's a used vehicle, and we pay cash for everything but our home. We follow the Dave Ramsey plan, which means we have a six month emergency fund, no debt, and save cash for "new" car purchases. Leasing a vehicle doesn't follow our no payment beliefs. When you save for things, invest 15% of our income, and budget well, life is good. No judging others who don't live this way, I know we are "weird".
We bought it and LOVE it! Had a carfax provided, I bought an autocheck just for backup, and while we were test driving we took it to a Toyota dealership to get checked out. I'm just a little paranoid about buying used.
