I have noticed for some time that when I crack the rear passenger window, the slightest uneven road makes the window rattle. I can lower it about 4" and it is ok...but try doing that down the highway. I also have the weathertech window vents so an inch or two window opening is great with rain and highway driving. Can I fix it, or back to the dealer? Thanks.
I have the same thing in every window. I think that the window channel rubber weatherstrip is too small, allowing the window to move. I got out of mine, with the windows half way down, and wiggled the window and I heard it clicking, clattering, rattling, whatever you want to call it. It is almost as if there was just not quite enough cushion in the rubber channel to hold the window still against wind buffeting or vibration from the rough roads. I can understand if the window is allowed to go up and down and make the window regulator play make noise in the door, but this noise is the actual glass within the channel. I hope that the new weatherstrip is a bit tighter against the glass that is in the channel....
If your weathertech vent shades install in the window Chanel then you stretched out the top Chanel of the window first time you closed it and that's life, window track is now loose, not saying that tightening up the hardware won't help alleviate the noise, my 20-20 hind site tells me never buy in track vent shades again...
