I have been shopping for a prius for a month. I narrowed it down to 2

    1. 2006 blue prius sport package no navigation has back up camera 93k miles priced $9400 out the door.
    2. 2005 silver prius has navigation blue tooth etc. 104,700 miles priced at $9500 out the door

this will be a cash deal...
    which to choice??

here are the vin #'s in case someone wants to help me out on a carfax...
    1. vin: JTDKB20U163144147
    2. vin: JTDKB20U653003945

    thanks for helping us newbies..

Re: two to choice from which prius to get

I would pick 2006. There are many tiny improvements for the mid-model refresh. The screen has higher resolution and interiors has soft material instead of hard plastic.

If I understand it right, 2006 is also the Touring model.

Re: two to choice from which prius to get

Personally, I would choose the 2005 because navigation and blue tooth are both pretty important to me, and the backup camera is not. The mileage on both is in the same basic high range, so I would pay the extra $100 for the bluetooth alone. But that's just my personal preference.

    hope this helps!

The craigslist ad has been removed. The 2006 isn't a Touring model so I'm not sure where the "sport pkg" come from. Given that the 2005 isn't available, does that make your decision easier?

2006 should have bluetooth. It has bluetooth steering buttons.

2005 does not have tire pressure monitoring system. It only became available in 2006 model.

Just so you know the 2006 at Towbin Dodge has navigation. Notice the MAP button on the lower right of the display. So, it has all the bells and whistles as in navigation, bluetooth, HID headlight, back up camera, and fog lights. I would choose the 2006 since there are improvements from the 2004-2005 model. No brainer. 2006!

    Thanks for your reply,
Let me tell you the story,
I drove from my house to Towbin (36 miles) the guy on the phone told me he would start the paper work, I was a cash buyer all was good. I get there (with my 3 kids under 5 and wife) The guys says "the car has a small dent in the front" I say lets go check it out" he says "let me get the keys" comes back a 1/2 hour later and says "sorry the car just sold
but I can show you...." I was so upset I just left... without saying anything.... NEVER AGAIN>>

Yikes, that really sucks. Sorry to hear that. The name Towbin Dodge rang a bell. They were on that TV show about car dealers. It is right on their website. They were sleezy people on there. I am glad you were able to find another Prius and handled well by them. Congrats on the Prius.

It depends on your priority. Exterior look or interior functionality. I would suggest getting used to the car first before modding. This would give you a better idea what you need most to customize to your liking.
