Must I replace the TPMS sensors when I replace my wheels?

You can reuse the sensors from your 15" wheels. It will not be a problem.

 

The TPMS sensor mounts mounts directly on the other side of the factory valve stem. So instead of using new valve stems, the installer will use the existing valve stem units off your Toyota rims. Most vehicles in the past couple of years are equipped with some form of TPMS so I would believe tire installers are familiar with these units. If not, they prob would be out of business by now. Ask to make sure.

 

I was also thinking about those wheels. But, I went with Enkei RS+M. The sensors will work with Enkei wheels and a direct swap. Post a pic when you get them installed.

I was going to get the RS05. But, I was able to find a set of RS+M. They are discontinued just like the RS05 are about to be. Add your pics when you get them on your car. I would like to see what they look like on the 2010 Prius in BP.

 

FYI: when you decide to move your sensors over, buy a new TPMS seal kit (I think they're called service kits in the parts catalog). Also, be sure they put a little silicone grease around the seals, as it helps to prevent leaking at the TPMS valve stem seals.

 

I paid $100 at a local speed shop for a mount, balance, and install done by hand with a proper torque wrench (I have Ce28n Eco Drives with aluminum Volk lug nuts). You may want to contact some locals if you want to save some money.

 

I just installed my new wheels with new Toyota TPMS sensors, but i haven't had them programmed yet. This car isn't nearly as annoying as some of my other cars, just a little low tire light. My EVO X dings at you every 10 minutes and flashes the dash when I have my track wheels on the car.
