    Anyone have a good technical description of how the a/c works on the Prius? What engine modes, etc.?

    The air conditioner is electrically powered by the HV battery and can by run in both the IG-ON and Ready modes.

    Thanks for the Info. I looked under the car, but it wasn't obvious that it was independent of the drivetraing
