[SOLVED] 2009 Prius' passenger fan not working.

I made an account here for my sister, who recently bought a Prius. (woo first post!) She knew there would be some problems with it because the price was great, so now that we've assessed the damage we want to fix it and I figured this would be the best place to go :D

So the problem I've got is that all the A/C and fans work in the car except the one by the door. I'm usually the one in the passenger seat, and NJ summer weather is pretty brutal from what I've seen, so I'd like to know how I can get it to work. All other fans work, including the fans under the seat, so the AC system works, just not that one fan. Is it supposed to be replaced, or is it possible that it's just unhooked?

sidenote: where can I get a second key and a seatbelt buckle on the cheap?

I suppose the car was in a severe accident and no longer under warranty?

FYI there is only one blower motor (fan). The air is directed to various vents with motorized dampers. If only one vent doesn't work then maybe the corresponding damper is stuck. Good luck! :)

if by key you mean the FOB, which type do you have, silver back, or black back? Silver is the smart key. If it is silver, there is no cheap answer. Black, you an buy it on ebay and program it yourself. The mechanical key can be copied by any locksmith on a regular type of key. If you want the special key that fits in the FOB, then you need to get the special blank. You can pick them up for under $10, if I remember correctly. Search for it on this site.

Is this in regards to the vent in right rear passenger area? This is not an AC vent. It is a vent for the cooling fan for the HV battery. I am assuming the vents and fan in the front work well.

Stupid question: the thumbwheel control below that vent is not off ("X"), right?
