For sale! 2010 8kwh PHEV Prius V w/ ATP $34,000 Enginer.us PHEV kit installed. It runs for a very long time with the 8kw pack before it needs recharging. I tend to get 50-100 miles with the converter turned down. I assume 50 miles with the converter turned up. I have been achieving 50mpg without trying. (Converter is only outputting at 8-10amps though.) I achieved 99.6mpg in the MPG challenge at green drive expo. I know that at 30-40amps the car has achieved 250mpg. Location: Central IL Mileage: around 30,000mi (Gentle highway miles) Mileage on plugin: 2000mi or so, only about 20 cycles. (Enough to thoroughly test.) Selling it with 8kw plugin, I've achieved anywhere between 70-250mpg. Converted to run safely on E85, (heavily subsidized in IL) though I recommend regular every other time. I have the Advanced Technology Package, installed lower body rocker panels, body side molding, mud guards, tinted windows and front brow, decals, HID converted fog lamps, and high beams. There is now a few decals indicating it is a plug-in. At least once per drive I have people asking about it at a stop light, or in a parking lot. All exterior bulbs changed in some way, such as mirrored amber bulbs so the euro style housing doesn't look like an egg yolk. All interior bulbs are changed to LED. There is a sub woofer to compliment the factory stereo. I have a spare full sized tire to put on your next set of tires. Scan-gauge, heavy contractor cords. I have one plug and charger now. It takes longer to charge, but it's a more thorough slower charge. Shocks can be altered if you desire. The car is in a garage all the time. More info: http://web.me.com/bjhorton2008/Site (website may not be as up to date as this post.) VIN: JTDKN3DU6A0004368 (One owner, no accidents... etc) Decided to sell after all. Going to move on to a new project.
*posted on wrong account,... again. lol* Unfortunately the leaf isn't coming here anytime soon. I am actually going to get a solar Prius.
I have to ask Brad....why are you selling? Also, when you say your car is fully converted to run on E85..what did you do to convert it?
I went through my share of 2010 Pri. I started with the V ATP, then V navi, and now the VI solar. The moonroof is nice and the solar is an added bonus. I miss the 17s, LEDs, and sportier driving characteristics. I changed out my wheels to 17s. I will have to live with the halogen projectors. I will change the suspension once it comes down in price. But, really happy though. Good luck on your sale.
It's the Enginer kit. I, and a few others have had excellent success with it on the Gen3. It seems to be able to handle much more extra power without coding like the Gen2. I have 8kwh available, but I don't recommend it. It's sort of a waste imho. I'm selling because I want the solar Prius. I also don't like the low-profile tires on the V. Also, in my area the lines on the road are so crappy (state is like 8billion in the red) that the LKA can't assist. By modifying for e85 I mean the ECU has been modified. Basically the ignition system has been changed slightly. The car can compensate for lower octane gas, such as a station with old fuel, but not for higher octane fuel, such as e85. The compression ratio in this atkinson cycle engine allows for good e85 combustion. I also checked into it, and as long as you don't subject the gaskets, and fuel lines to e100 regularly, then you are in the safe. The only bad thing is that it is such clean fuel it actually requires high grade plastics be used. Most cars on the road can run more ethanol than they are saying they can. Especially in a car like the Prius where it doesn't consume much fuel at any given time, (because the other e85 requirement is a fuel pump that can push more volume through, as the BTUs are lower.) I recommend to the buyer to fill with regular fuel every other time just to be safe.
Oh, I thought I'd note, for full asking price I will transfer a 100k warranty, which covers tire and road hazzard, but if the buyer wants to save two thousand bucks I'll just cancel that and get my money back. If anything happens to the car as a result of being converted to e85, it's warrantied. I have everything in the glove box. Also have all the service records, and basically every receipt and warranty for things such as the subwoofer/installation by best buy, and the window tint and such.
I updated the post up there. It's now a fully functioning 8kw phev and I do have the price down to 35k, as I have put several more miles on it. The car is in excellent shape now, and ready to roll! I am preparing for the leaf. I have another prius to drive in the meantime, but I do intend on going full electric soon.
I decided to keep the car. I just have too much in it, I'm loving it. Things are working good on it, and it's turning heads. I'm just going to keep it. !!! Austin is thinking about wanting an insight. If he does we have pretty good sized down payments on our two new priuses, and we might just trade those for one and have a tiny payment. I'll just keep plugging in and not mess with dealing with Nissan on the leaf! I've finally let go. lol
Sounds like a wise decision to me as well. Hope it all works out well. Keep smiling and don't look back....well, unless he's cute (I suppose).....
For the record, I am willing to sell if someone offers enough to make it worth while. Anyways. I do have a 2010 III Barcelona Red for sale. Hoping for $22,000.
I have decided again to sell this car. I am interested in starting a new project with a new car. I may be lowering the price, if the other party who I am purchasing a car from decides to lower their price.
I now have this Plugin for sale still, I've lowered the price to $39,999.99 $39,950.00 is the lowest offer that will be "automatically accepted." I thought you guys should know. Very unfortunately I also have a loaded '07 Prius for sale for $13,000. I've had some terrible things happen lately, and that's why they are going. No other reasons than that at this point in time.
Received a question about the '07. Here is the response so I don't have to reply to new similar questions: Sure, I will update the post. It's got roughly 70k miles, it's in ok condition. It looks great, but there are a few dents. Not many dings or chips on the front surprisingly enough. It is extremely clean. JTDK13204677637221. The car looks great, the biggest exterior flaw is a dent above the window on the hatch. The car looks great and smells great. It belonged to a loved one though, and I can't even open the car and sit in it much less take pictures of it right now. I'm sorry.
