I can't find this info with a search of this forum and Google provides conflicting info.
Belt or chain, if belt, what is the replacement schedule? Didn't see it listed in the manual so I am betting it is a chain.
I had a TDI Jetta and those are at 60K and VERY important to replace on time so I am anal about timing belts.

I'm pretty sure I've participated in a timing belt/chain discussion around here recently.

Anyway Toyota uses a timing chain on this model of 4 cylinder. There is no scheduled replacement on it. This doesn't mean it will never need replacing, however multi-link chains do not strech easily, so I doubt that it will ever need to be changed.
