what's this paintless dent remover people are talking about? i got a dent on my accord on the side exactly like that 2nd picture OP posted, and estimate was $150~ with 50% of cracking the paint. it sounded risky so i didn't do it.

 

First, sorry this happened. It hurts.

While there are reasons not to do so, depending on the total price of the work needed, your insurance policy's comprehensive coverage may cover the work needed. Comprehensive covers the majority of things which can go wrong other than a collision-type event.

In addition to the PDR guys, you might look for a mobile paint/dent repair company which specializes in lease turn-in fixes, dealership fixes for used cars, etc. They usually work out of a rather large truck which has everything they can possibly need. I suspect they blend colors on the spot, which can be done because all the auto paints have a formula. I've seen their work while working on some high-end used cars at a dealership, and when they're done, you can't tell there was a problem.

Possible reasons not to do so ... if your deductible is close to the total cost, not much to be gained. Also, you might want to check on whether the claim would affect your insurance cost.

 

There are many in evey city. A lot of times they are called the Dent Wizard. If the paint is not broke they can get the dent out. I have had great luck over the years using services like this.

 

mine was 2 months old had about 1500 miles on it and a little old jewish lady backed into me in a parking lot. she had me go to body shop, write an estimate and paid me by check $1100.

i went to Toyota, bought bottle of touch up paint (actually had to wait a month. car was so new, they didnt have it in stock) for $8. touched it up and drive it dented. check paid for vaca at water park.

 

I see nothing right with what you did.

 

You should give her the money back that you stole from her.

I got one. The first night I brought my 07 home after a very long day I parked it in the garage.
At first glance it looked like it was in the garage perfectly deep enough. Nope.

Closed the door and put 2 really nice deep grooves in the back bumper where the garage door caught it coming down. The door has this stupid bracket at the bottom that looks like a foot bar.

Cheapest quote I got was $500. I figured I'd wait as sooner or later someone would hit me in the rear end and fixing though scratches now would double my chances of a rear end whack. I waited.

I was right.

 

This is off-topic, but he hardly stole money from the woman. She damaged his property and she reimbursed him for that damage. When he goes to sell the car the value will be impacted because that damage is there.

Insurance companies just cut you a check, they don't care if you have the vehicle repaired or not. It is damaged and you need to be reimbursed for the value of that damage.
