This was really a Lowe blow- (not my words)

Man Accidentally Shoots himself in the Testicles

This is nature's way of preventing idiots from reproducing. Not exactly sure why anyone feels they need to carry a loaded firearm into a store (really low self esteem) unless they plan to rob the place. This is not a question of can you do it, but why would you.

Yes the jokes are none stop:
    Accidental discharge?
Well at least he was in the nuts and bolts section-
He doesn't have the balls to do it again-

Why would I carry a gun? Because when seconds count the police are only minutes away. And even though anti-gun advocates keep saying that guns cause crime, FBI statistics don't confirm that hypothesis. Even though gun purchases increased dramatically when Obama and the Democrats looked likely to take office in 2008 murder and other violent crimes have gone down.

Who on earth knows but when I carry mine all three safeties are engaged and I carry it in a holster so that the trigger can not accidentally be activated. This poor man probably just had a sudden overwhelming need to scratch. He probably won't have such an overwhelming need or even that problem in the future.

I bet he's not half the man he used to be. :p

What kind of weapon is he packing now? A sawn-off shotgun, or just a snub-nosed revolver? :D

Because it isn't safe to leave it in the car. For a first hand explanation, just ask (former) Seattle Police Chief Kerlikowski.

Further discussion of reasons is banished to FHOPolitics.

Without knowing the details, its hard to believe he just shot his testicles, especially if the gun was in his waistband. I would think his pecker must have taken some damage unless he was stimulated and it was pointing up and away. Or his gun was on the right side but his shaft was on the left side.

Not too long ago we had a football player who shot himself in his leg at a bar. Both of these guys are not too smart.

Just a question here... but what are the odds that you're going to be in a major retail store like Lowe's while it's being robbed?

Heck, what are the odds that someone is going to rob a major retail store like Lowe's? A small store with one register is a much better bet than trying to go down a row of 10 registers to get cash, giving the cops time to catch up with you.

Heck, I've been in and out of both small and large retail stores my entire life... and I've never seen anyone rob the place while I was there. Sure, IF it happens while you're in there, you can pull your gun and shoot at the guy... and he can shoot back at you. Who knows, one of you might even hit something. Of course, you also have the option of simply walking away - the store is huge, and he's not going to spend his time searching through the whole thing just to get the $20 in your wallet.

It's called the 21 foot rule. If I'm within 21 feet of you, I can close the distance before you have time to draw, aim, and fire. Outside of 21 feet, i have other options, like negotiating or running away. very few people in our society can accurately shoot a moving target 21 feet away.

Does it seem to some of you that some of these guys wearing a gun are less concerned with their safety, but just trying to make a statement: "Don't mess with me?"

    A poser?

I don't need a gun to feel safe. More people do end up hurting themselves or unintentionally hurting other with guns then ever shooting a criminal. Well said eagle33199.
