On the Prius equipted with the nav systems and the free trial of XM radio, does it also come with a 3 month free trial of the XM Nav traffic update? Thanks, Tom

Hi - Does anyone know if the 2008 Gen II Prius is capable of using the Nav Traffic ? My current Nav version is 7.1. I just got a 90 day trial of XM w/ Vav Traffic, but not sure how I can tell if it is functioning, or if it will never work (Even if I upgrade to 9.1)
The stock navigation system can't. I don't know if it's a software issue (if it is, then you have to buy a nav that has traffic capability because it has to receive the data and then compile it and display it on the screen) or whether it's a data issue (upgradeable by DVD). I'm thinking it's software. You need to see the traffic icon on the screen (3 cars)
I just got my 2010 prius with package V. Loving it. So I have the XM traffic feature on my NAV system. What happens after 3 months when it expires? How am i notified?
You should receive a letter from XM asking you to purchase a package to continue after your trial period expires. I do not know if it is still available but if you ask for the Prius Chat special you can get it for like $77 plus royalty fees for a price somehwere around $90. The full price is double this price at like $145.
I don't think the XM radio package includes the Nav Traffic, does it? I find it to be a PIA. Too much information, usually outdated by the time you get there.
Correct. The XM radio package does not include NavTraffic and neither does the $77 price (unless you happen to get lucky).
Has anyone gotten a deal on the XM Radio and Traffic combination? I find the traffic quite useful, I used to bring up the Seattle area traffic screen on my blackberry since I despise the radio stations that give the traffic (except for NPR stations, and then their traffic isn't as frequent, and I thank them for that!).
