Does anyone know of a chrome door handle cover/clad for the 2010 that works with the smart system? I've seen a cover for the mirrors, but not the handle that would work for the 2010 system.
Mine are painted to match the exterior color, why would you want to do anything else ? If they were dull black of something, I might get it, but when they blend in perfectly why make them chrome ?
Chrome on black is nice. To the OP, i would say purchase a new handle from toyota, it'll probably come primered but not painted. now paint chrome!
Hmmm, you got me thinking. Should I get some chrome rear view mirrors or covers, chrome door handles and maybe a chrome strip down the side?
No one seems to be selling them yet. I see the non-Smart Key covers, but no Smart Key covers. I'd give it a few more months. Slowly we're seeing inexpensive aftermarket stuff come out for the Gen 3. Chrome non-Smart Key door handle covers, knock-offs of the wheel covers for the 15" wheel, TOMY's 1/60 scale diecast toy.

I'm joking...but come on New Yorker...you have high reflectivity glowing stripes on your automobile yet you are wondering why someone would want chrome handles when they are painted to blend in perfectly? Given your automobile I would of expected you to support someone not necessarily wanting to blend in.
I looked into these and got myself a set. I put it up against the car and decided against the install because I felt that it made my car look cheap and tacky. But, to each his own: 2010 TOYOTA PRIUS CHROME DOOR HANDLE NO SMARTKEY You'll be able to find mirror covers and pillar covers there as well.
Why put reflective tape all over a beautiful new car? Everybody has different opinions and tastes... I have seen chrome covers for the Gen II Prius but not for the Gen III yet...they'll come out I'm sure... I don't think you can paint them chrome, they would have to be electrochromed. You can chrome ABS plastic...but thats going to be expensive.
Surely chrome handles will decrease milage.....02 oz of chrome you will loose 2-5 mpg...seriously though why not go ahead and chrome all the window trim and add a landau top to complete that 70's vibe?
I like chrome door handles (and chrome wheels or wheel covers too). Especially on a black or dark gray Prius. Here's how they look on my Gen 2 Magnetic Gray:
I acquired my set from ebay. $45 something including shipping( made in China). Not bad. Thick chrome but need to add more double sided tape when installigd( just put on the existing handles). Still keep sparkling after installed for a few months. You can check from ebay. Scroll down their listing to find your model.
I'll take carbon fiber that way there is the upgrade excuse that you are making the car lighter also...
