Last Sunday (17 Apr), I noticed that Checker Auto parts had Stoner "Invisible Glass" cleaner on sale ($4) and with the currently offered rebate $4, making the net price tax and 37 cents postage. I think the rebate lasts through 15 May, if anyone is interested.

At that price, and hearing the good things from a few people here about Stoner products, I thought I'd check it out. Just used it today, and I must say it is excellent. (This is from someone who is inherently skeptical about *all* special products). Cleans very well, no streaks, easy to use. I would highly recommend it, although at the price, I may just do a thouroug cleaning every 6 months or so, and use another cleaner on a regular basis.

    Thanks,
    Shawn

When I wash Priapus and/or my wife's car, the windows get a good scrubbing with a regular window cleaner, then a going over with Stoners. Oh man, those are some darned clean windows. At first, I was skeptical of the phrase "invisible glass". Because of the reflection of the sky on the windsheild, it was far from invisible. But once I got in, I swear to you, it was as though the glass was gone. Every window disappeared. Amazing. That's when I realized that it's invisible from the inside and just plain radiant from the outside. I'm hooked on Stoners now.

Thanks for the notice. I'm gonna go out and pick me up a can as soon as I'm done here.

This is awesome, thank you. I just ran out and was ready to shop so your timimg is perfect. I am one of those people that had been promoting Stoner products here. I even bring them to the local PriusChat meets in California so people can see and try them themselves.

It looks like the sale is on 4 different Stiner products so I will stock up on as many as they will let me have.

    Whoa, Dude!

Actually in all seriousness I'll have to go get Stoned... ugh, this Stoners stuff a try. It sounds like pretty good stuff. Is it just available at auto supply stores or do places like Target have it as well?

Its generally available in many retail stores and you can always mail order directly from the factory. One of the fun things a lot of my friends have done is to order their sample that has one can of everything they make.

    Enjoy getting Stonered :)

Try using waded up news paper with the stoner product for super clean, streak free glass. I have owned 12 cars in the last 15 years and a relative gave me this tip just a year ago. (Where have I been?)

    peace-

The newspaper ink releases a chemical that cleans windows nicely when wetted with water, adding Invisible glass just makes it better (I used to work for the Wall Street Journal, so I got this one from the guys that run the big presses).

Any articles in the Journal these days talking about GM and Lutz? I think it would be appropriate to use a GM article to clean the glass on my Prius. :)

The Stoner Glass Cleaner is available at Sam's Wholesale Club, four cans for $9.99.

My window-tint warranty says to use a non-ammonia cleaner. Does Stoner's contain ammonia?

if I remenber correctly, it is safe around tint but to be complete;y sure, just give them a call. They are very friendly and helpful on the phone to me, so I'm sure you'll get an authoritative answer.

Called them, it contains no ammonia. The packaging states that it is safe on tint. To quote the customer rep "if your tint states no ammonia, you'll be just fine"

Pep Boys in the south carries the product, both in spray cans, and in pump-it-yourself containers. I bought the pump-it-yourself type, cause it contained approx 25% more product for just a few pennies more, and I tried to avoid spray cans in general.

Works just fine with microfiber towel...

I e-mailed Stoner for an MSDS to see what the invisible glass cleaner contained. Here's the info:

 I found Stoner Invisible Glass, Window, Windshield & Mirror Cleaner. So, if you have a Sam's nearby and care to stock 4 cans, you can save a few $$. Sam's is a "cousin" of WalMart, so WalMart may also stock Stoner.

    Also agree: Stoner is superior.

I prefer to pay a higher price for Stoner's at places like Kragen before I put any money in the pockets of Wal-Mart :pukeleft: or their :pukeright: "cousins".

Well, this will lead this thread off topic but I understand that the owner of Costco is very highly regarded in that he limits his own salary, his starting employees make 4 times more than what Scum-mart pays and that they don't have to wait one year before they can apply for health insurance. The turnover of employees is significantly less than other chains. Also, he is well liked by the employees and he allows and works with labor unions.
