Has any one tried any of the Phillips x-treme vision lamps. They are rated at 55 watts which is the same as oem but claim to produce a much better light. I'm in the commercial lighting business and I know there are better qualities of lamps which will produce more lumens per watt. liteguy
Several of us have tried the Philips X-Treme Power bulbs. I love them. They seem to live up to Philips' claim of being up to 80% brighter than OEM halogens. But as with all brighter aftermarket halogens, they will burn out faster than OEM halogens. usbseawolf2000, Tideland Prius and I have reported how long the Philips XTreme Power bulbs lasted for us on the Gen II Prius: - usbseawolf2000: approx 5000 miles for one bulb and 9000 miles for the other. - Boo: exactly 9595 miles when the first bulb blew out. - Tideland Prius: approx 16,000 miles when the first bulb blew out, and being in Canada, his bulbs were on all the time as daytime running lights.
I tried a different version on my previous car. I went through new bulbs ever few months. I am sticking with the ones that came with the car. So far I have 25K miles and not one bad bulb.
The same threads start over and over. I have been here less than a year and it is the 4th time I responded to a new thread like this with that pic.
