I have only had mine a couple of weeks, this is first I heard of this compartment. Pretty cool. I still can't believe how much storage this car has.

I knew about all the "secret" storage areas months before I bought my car... thanks to Prius Chat. I also knew which mods I'd do that first week. I knew I'd take the trim rings off the first day... Actually buying the car was somewhat of a buzz-kill.

i prefer the other secret storage area.. under the cup holders.. if you pull up and towards the dash, the cup holders pop off (i'd like to think it's for easy cleaning)

if that secret drawer is out even a half an inch, that piece won't come off...

    that's my trash bin...

but I didn't discover it until after like a year of ownership!

Another easy to miss thing is the pop-open storage area right under the CD player. I discovered that one after a while too.

I know the long standing members know about it but do our new members know about the space under the left side of the cargo area? Also under the cargo area floor is a huge box.

Don't forget to empty it out when you clean the car. They can kinda smell after awhile.
And under that is the spare tire. Just in case you're still looking. ;)

Spare tire? We don't need no spare tire! Most of us already carry one around our hips! :p
