Since I started drooling over the new Prius(3rd gen) I've been googling alot for local prius clubs or similar. But seems that the best community I could find was PC, which sure looks like a very decent place :D

I really wanted to buy the new 2010 model with premium package (full accessory package) but that would end up at 56 000 USD in Norway, so as a poor student which just turned 21, I had to face reality and get a used car instead.

So after lots of searching I found a 2004 Prius with Navi&JBL and haven't gone more then 55 000 KM (roughly 35k miles) for 27k USD. Belive it or not, it was one of the cheapest used prius I was able to find. And I didn't really wanna get a gen1 .
I just signed the contract today, so I won't have pics or the car until the end of the month.

The funny part is that all my friends give me "the look" every time I mentioned I wanted a hybrid, and they telling me I should get something real. But hey, I like to have what I want, regardless of what others think.
Looking forward to get lots of advice and stuff from this community :bounce:

Welcome to the Prius owner's club ( sort of ; ] ) I remember my first car which was an Austin A55 way back in the early '50's. We are on our third Prius and have loved every mile we have travelled in them. Never cease to be amazed at how few problems we've had, almost nil. The worst was when we bought a locking gas cap and ended up having the engine check light coming on. Turned out this was caused because the cap was not an airtight fit so returned it and back to using the original.
    :) have fun!

    Velkommen!
Obviously we think you're making the right choice.
I thought Norway was a bit more progressive than that, isn't that where the the electric Th!nk was being made? It's changed hands so many times since Ford had it, I'm not really sure what it's current status is. Also, didn't Norway had the stated goal of being petroleum free by 2020 or something?

Didn't realize cars were so expensive over there, or is it just the Prius?

I do not know about being petroleum free, since that kinda the only thing we get our money from xD

All cars here are expensive, mostly cause we have a whopping 25% sales tax. Average car age in norway is 10.2 years, nuff said. On top of that 25% sales tax, we have more tax depending on CO2 and horsepower. Pretty stupid! Its not just the car which is expensive, just having one ruins you as well. By including fuel, insurance and toll, keeping an average normal car in my area cost roughly 4k USD a year =/

I'm eager to find out my annual costs for a prius tho :)
