PriusChat has partnered with a company called TapaTalk who has come up with an iPhone application that will allow you to have full access to PriusChat from your iPhone or iPod Touch. They also have released an application in beta form for the Android platform. The application has many features, including full Private Messaging, "View New Posts" functionality, mobile image uploads, topic subscriptions, ability to reply and edit posts, etc. The iPhone app costs $2.99 from the iTunes App store. This money goes to TapaTalk, the application developer, not PriusChat. The Lite version does not include the ability to post to the forum or view full-screen images. You can find the Android beta for free in the Android Marketplace. Best part about the TapaTalk app? Last night I noticed a problem with the free app. I would read one thread and then go back to read another one and the app would drop. Other then that it was a great way to catch up on some things I missed.
Where did you find the app???? I did multiple searches, NO JOY. Can you point me in the proper direction!!
I updated the TapaTalk software here on PriusChat today. I have been ? for the iPhone for over a month on here. Works pretty well too. For some reason, I have to hit the refresh button most of the time to get the latest posts when I check in. Also, the "unread" posts tab never works. But, all in all, it is very handy.
My issue is Verizon, I'm on Verizon and AT&T coverage isn't great here. I've read Apple and AT&T have signed another 5 year deal.
I've now seen a story about a court record indicating the original agreement ran through 2012. Seems obvious that agreement was modified, based on changes in pricing and business practices, and on statements made by ATT bigwigs. It's my understanding the ipad story was just baseless speculation by a stock pimp, er, analyst. Given the coming convergence on LTE, and the fact the iphone sells better in countries without exclusive deals, it makes business sense to dump the exclusivity, but hey, what do I know?
Does PriusChat have a Twitter feed that notifies us whenever a new article is posted to the homepage, or a new thread is added to Prius And Hybrid News forum ? Thanks. I get 99% of my news from Twitter on my iPhone now. Twitter is awesome. No more wasting time on websites. News headlines are blasted to my cell phone in real time. People say "Did you hear about...?" and I say "Yeah, like a half hour ago." (posted from Turn off signatures in Tapatalk web browser)
Rybold - I don't have a Twitter feed for that specific purpose right now, but I do have the @PriusChat for general PriusChat stuff (and I usually post whenever I have posted something to the front page) and @PriusChatForums which posts links and titles to each new thread.
