Long-term Prius Storage/6-12 months

    That would be a nice feature. Pop the hood, push the red button labeled "Emergency Jump Start," get in, power up, and drive off

    Fortunately, B-I-L is VERY educable, plus, he's used to driving a stick, so telling him he HAS to press a pedal to start the car properly won't be a problem, and he can definitely recognize the word READY on command!:D

    So what's the overall consensus? Stay-bil or not? Battery minder or not? My 2009 Prius is going to have to sit still in a garage for 4-5 months.

    Regarding the 12V battery, either disconnect the negative terminal after the battery is fully-charged; or else hook up a battery tender.

    Regarding the fuel tank, I would just leave the car with a couple of gallons of gas in the tank, then fill the tank when you put the car back in service.

    Use the gas with no ethanol if you are going to store.

    good idea, and put her up on blocks to take the weight off of the tires.
