Hello, I saw a set of 4 new Michelin Energy Saver tires P185/65R15 for $337 after discount at treadepot.com + $51 shipping. There is a $25 instant discount & a $70 mail in rebate for a total of $95 saving. Is that a good deal? Mount & balance would cost me extra $40 locally or $50 with lifetime balance warranty, would the lifetime balance be worth it?
Probably. I think mine cost about $119 per, before any other charges or tax. Be sure to check the date codes, though. . _H*
Show the deal to the local tire place, see what they'll do for you on price. That "Lifetime balance" along with free rotations, etc., may be thrown in if you buy the tires from them. The $70 rebate is a Michelin thing, doesn't matter where you buy them. (That's still going? Was supposed to end last November!). - D
Compare to Costco if they are near you. The per tyre cost includes installation and lifetime rotation. It might also have a warranty included -- but I am unsure about this last 'freebie' Costco: http://tires2.costco.com/SearchResults.aspx?SearchID=33011f36-9c34-462a-9027-4e3e48786d87 Addendum: Seems like a good deal
I paid $550 for a set of Michelin X tires last week at Costco. They may last 80,000 miles but I was not happy with the price or the selection. That was the only tire they had that would fit my 08 Prius.
