I listen to long mp3 podcasts burned to a cd in my 2008 Prius (non-DVD). The file list button in the upper right corner of the screen is often grayed out. Occasionally it lights up and I can use it but most of the time I can't. What's going on here?
It's a safety feature. If the car is moving then the driver should look at the road, not the file list.
You will notice that Toyota locks out many features when the vehicle is in motion. Think of it as their insurance against lawsuits. Tom
I didn't think of that. Sometimes it works when the car is in montion though and not when it is parked.
I wish the system used the info it gets about passenger seat occupancy (for air bag activation) and didn't grey it out when a passenger is there to fly the audio portion of our voyage.
