I just saw that Toyota is offering 2.9% financing on new Priuses in the NY area. I was going to wait until fall, but I will probably buy one before the June 1 cut off date. What would be a good price for a IV model with sunroof? The list is over $31,000
That is weird. Here in Seattle we have had 0% financing since March (still in effect as of today). This is for a 36-month loan on a purchase, not a lease. It goes up to 1.9% for either 48 or 60 months. It's the whole reason I bought this car when I did.
You're lucky to get that. 2.9 is the best offer I've seen here on Priuses. They do have 0% on other cars. Might as well get one. The strange thing is I have never seen the solar roof here in New York, but I want one. And there are Priuses everywhere you drive now - almost like Corollas.
Yup, lucky is right. I'd been waiting for probably a year or two, watching the financing rates and Prius and Camry Hybrid were always excluded. I probably would have jumped on it at 2.9% - then after all the bad news Toyota has really been making a big sales push and they keep extending this 0% deal. You might want to look at what financing rates other areas near you are getting? You can go to buyatoyota.com and then plug in a zip code and it will show you offers in that area. FYI, before you buy you may want to take a look at a few recent threads here about the extended warranty etc. I bought the Platinum plan but am having second thoughts (fortunately I can apparently get out of it now at little cost to me)... Would have been helpful to have gone in a little more prepared than I was.
Just picked up my 2010 II Blizzard for $2000 off (dealership incentive) and the 2.9% locked in! Its true, jump on it if you're Tier 1 credit. I guess the guys are really hurtin here in TX. Been waiting and waiting for a good deal and it finally came along. Our special ended May3rd though.
Thanks, I did check buyatoyota and it has the same information - 2.9% in the tri state area (New York, Connecticut and New Jersey) As for a warranty, I did not buy one on my 2005 Prius and have never had a problem, so I will not buy one on a new Toyota. They have been that reliable. As for colors, I don't really like any of them, but red looks the best, especially with the solar roof. Also, as far as the 2 year free maintenance, that has a 25,000 mile limit. I drive almost 25,000 miles a year, so it will last me only about a year.
That's a good point about the maintenance deal - I didn't get that. So my lower interest rate and your free maintenance probably offset each other somewhat. I'd say hop on it, Toyota sales are through the roof this spring (and especially Prius) so who knows how long they'll keep dangling these incentives.
