One thing that irks me is cars that don't have an extendable sun visor -- i.e., one that, when flipped to block light coming the driver's door window, can be slid toward the rear of the vehicle a few inches. This is important for me, as I generally have the seat slid back fairly far as I'm 6' tall, and unless the visor slides this way, I get sun glare in through the rear part of the driver's window. Question: Does the 2010 Prius have this feature, or is Toyota still putting this feature mostly only in it's Lexus line?

Yota. I don't know if the 2010 has this feature, but I am so in agreement with you. I had a new Jaguar that didn't have the extendable sunvisor so I had some strap-on ones made. They weren't very easy to use but sufficient. Then when I got my Prius, I took the strap-on pieces from the Jaguar and put them on the Prius. Not ideal but better than nothing.

I'm with you there! Seems a simple thing and there are many, MANY times I could make use of such a cheap and easy to make feature.

Has anyone tried this after market visor? Heading into summer and the factory visor does not do the job.

No, 2010 Prius does not have extended sun visor. I'm 5'7" but have your same wish.

Same wish here. Looks like the add-on extension would block the vanity mirror in the visor.

I thought sun visor was to hold CDs:confused:

I do not think I have flip down the visor yet I am 6'-1", seat push all the way to the back

My 2009 pick up has extendable sun visor , I think I have use it maybe 3x
Buy good sun glasses that will work better
I rather have the money spend on tint, heated seats, or dual zone AC

I definitely miss it. I had it on all my Honda's and took for granted all manufacturers had them by now. I am 6'2" and have the seat all the way back. It is most annoying when I am heading Eastbound early in the morning and the sun is coming up. I usually end up taking my left hand and blocking the sun. I also wondered if ther was an after market visor that could be put on. As you can see, I have a Gen III 2012. Other things that I miss is a small cup or holder for coins, I am now forced to use a 'glad baggie' for coins for incidental Tolls and meters.

I've only noticed the problem a couple of times in almost 3 years. Also 6 foot and sit way back. My Rav4 had a slide out shade, but what I do is carry a 5x7 index card and slide it into the window. Friction holds it right where u need it. Maybe I'll patent it.

checked into my friends 2010 Lexus IS250H, it has extended sun visor on both driver and passenger side. I measured the size and it seems to fit the 2010 Prius. The only difference is on the mounting base (ie. round vs. rectangle base). Don't know how much Lexus will charge to sell me one and I guess it won't be cheap. I am posting the IS250H sunvisor here for those who may be interest to get it. If you do, please let us know if it fits and how much it is.

I bought this extendable visor several months ago and it does the job for me. Good blockage of the sun on the left side.

Here is the jpg image showing the Lexus part number.

    http://is.sewellparts.com/oem-catalog/7401741676-Body-IS250-2010.html

Price for one visor would be $220 here: http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/lexus-visor-assy-lh~74320-48011-b1.html

Similar part number (ie, #74320) here for an older Toyota 4runner and/or Scion, but not sure they are compatible...definitely affordable though. http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/toyota~visor~assy~lh~74320-21140-B1.html I see that the new 4runners have the sliding extension on the visor, but do not know if the visors are compatible ....I have doubts.

Hoping someone else can take the next step in determining compatibility.

i am very interested in this too. i am willing to buy the lexus visor if it does fit. i provided part of a pdf which shows how to take off the visor and the circular bracket that holds it onto the headliner.

perhaps if we get the lexus one we can see if they are compatible just from images/drawings

pdf of the doc is also attached
