Question for y'all ..... I know there are certain modifications that can only be done by the dealer hooking up to the computer (i.e. turning off the beeps when the car locks/unlocks). Looks like my dealer is going to charge me to do this, so I only want to do it once. So I'm curious ... Those of you who have brought your Prius to the dealers for these modifications ... what did YOU have done, and now that you've had them done, would you do them again if you bought a new Prius? Thanks!
Find a dealer who won't charge you. You'll have the most success if you locate a combined Lexus/Toyota franchise (because Lexus, unlike Toyota, has a policy of performing a one-time complimentary Lexus Personalized Settings adjustment for customers). Many threads on which modifications to do, so do a search.
There are lots of posts on this but here is what I did: 1. Turn off continuous backup beep to 1 beep 2. Turn off seat belt beep and what I would like to add next time: 3. Mod SKS to open all doors not just drivers door when you approach drivers door. Dealer shouldn't charge you. Call around.
Thanks, I know the other night I was able to find a BUNCH of posts on this ... but tonight I seem to be striking out. My brain must not be thinking of the right keywords to search ... will wait till 3am when I was just as tired as I was the other night and try again ... maybe I'll have better luck. Prius42 ... reference your #3, I did that one myself (well, not from pushing the button, but from grabbing the door handle to open all 4 doors).
You can get the SKS to open all doors when you touch the driver's door by holding down the lock and unlock bottons until the car beeps. Likewise, you can do the reverse by going through the same process.
PERSONALIZED - thank you! I think I used every other word (customized, etc.) except that one. Knew it was just a matter of being in the same midset as my first search.
And for those who find this thread before the RIGHT one ..... priuschat.com/forums/ gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum/66792-whats-your-prius-personalized-settings.html What's Your Prius Personalized Settings
Yep! I would like to take the credit for this, but I actually found out how to do it in another thread here on PriusChat.
