I ordered the BT Tech Stiffening Plate on 4/21/10 for $165. The order confirmation e-mail I received stated the item would arrive in 5 - 10 days. 13 Days later still NO PRODUCT and NO E-MAIL with shipping confirmation. I called PriusChat.com at 803-233-3995 and left a msg with NO callback! I e-mailed PriusChat.com through the Contact Us link, with NO Response! I e-mailed [email protected] with NO response! I called Brian with BT Tech at 305-652-3115 and the number has been disconnected! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chill dude. Priuschat isn't going to rip you off! Don't count Saturdays or Sundays in your calculation of "5-10 days" and give these guys some time to respond.
I don't think anyone stole your money. I'm aware that Danny is out of town at the moment, so hopefully he will attend to your request as soon as he's back. You should also know that Brian of BT Tech died some time ago, which is why the number is disconnected. There were rumours of the business being continued, but I really have no idea how that is working out. I can't speak for the PriusChat Shop, but I don't imagine they would accept your money for a product that isn't available, if in fact that's the case.
Thanks for all the responses! I did not know that Brian passed away. The e-mail I received from PriusChat.com when placing the order stated: "Please allow 5-10 business days for delivery. Tracking will be provided as it becomes available." It's been 9 Business Days since placing my order and I have received NO tracking #, which means my order will NOT arrive by the 10th business day! I'm not sure about anyone else, but $165 is a lot of $$ to me! When I buy something and am told something specific I expect the company I am doing business with to follow through. Is that too much to ask for? Mylar
I ordered the BT plate from Priuschat shop earlier in the year. That particular part takes a while to get fulfilled. I placed my order on 3/10 and it shipped on 4/1. As an aside, a Heatshield that I ordered at the same time arrived within a few days of my placing the order. The original email confirmation said something similar to what you list above, so I surmise that it is just a standard message rather than an actual status. About two weeks after I placed my order, I pinged them via email and they did give me a status update that was pretty accurate. I think PC shop is acting as a sales agent for many of these specialty parts suppliers, so they are beholden to these specialty suppliers being on time. And, yes, I have some Wheelskins that I have been waiting about 2.5 weeks for...so it's not just the BT plate folks who take their time.
Keep in mind where you are at. You are in Prius Chat. You are in Prius Chat with a huge thread headline announcing you feel that the Prius Chat store "stole" your money. ....people are going to be defensive. Coming in here asking people to criticize the Prius Chat Store, is like asking Smokey The Bear to help you start a brush fire. I think you have legitimate reason to be disgruntled. But it hasn't been too long yet. And given the "instant" communication of today, I think somebody should of contacted you with some feedback. I'd just sit tight for another week. Assume you will either receive the product and/or be contacted by somebody. If not? Then go at Smokey with a flame thrower.
"In Stock" means an item is on hand and ready to ship when the order is placed, not the part will be made for you when you place the order. That is called "Special Order". PriusChat.com needs to change the wording on the product purchase page to properly set peoples expectations. They also need to answer the telephone when you call. Mylar
I tend to side with Mylar. Those who say good words about the Prius shop are possible partners of the business. Brian passed away almost a year ago and the business should be back to normacy by now. It would be a mis-leading advertisement if they claim "in stock" but fail to make the shipment immediately. They should at least acknowledge his email without delay explaining the reason for not shipping it sooner. We all should understand Mylar because it is his hard earned money after all - I mean every penny of it.
I have seen Danny tell others in your situation to PM him. He is out of town but can possibly get your PM email out of town and respond to you. Try that.
Did your credit card get charged yet? In your original posting it doesn't say one way or the other. If it hasn't you can stop the payment and shop elsewhere, and no money has been "stolen". If is has then IMO you have a legitimate gripe.

Be patient... I think it's been mentioned that perhaps he is out of town. I can appreciate your frustration, but I suspect, as soon as it's possible for him to know your concerns, he will.
Don't you think using the word 'stole' is a bit harsh in the circumstances. Normally use of this word is quite a serious accusation! Like others have said, sit back, calm down, have a cup of tea and I'm sure they get in touch with you soon. Keep us informed and updated too though.
Hey mate, what's a day or 2 between friends? The BT plate is worth the wait. I have had a delay or 2 myself dealing with the PC shop but the stuff always comes and is always first class stuff.
