August/September 2005 Meetup

Of course the Wisconsin group gets a lot of people showing. It seems they're far more popular up there. I just spent a week in Evanston, a ways north of home, and I saw at least 4 Prii every day. The number in the area was huge (a lot of Volkswagen Beetles, too).

If just going that far north multiplied the # of Prii by 5, I figure going further north would yield even more! <g>

 

I got Tony's message. To clarify, I cannot attend. Other things that weekend.

Rats....looks like I'm not going to be able to make the festivities. I have a wedding to go to that Sat.. and the wife bought me tickets to the ballgame for my birthday that Sunday.

 

Sorry--not able to make the August weekend

 

My husband and I are planning on going at least one day, but we won't know for sure until a couple days before.

 

okay so NOW i am on call at work that weekend, meaning that if i don't get a call saturday morning, i'm gonna go, but if i do, i'll try to go on sunday, and if i get called both days, then well... at least i'm getting paid overtime.

brian and i are definately maybe gonna be there!

 

I cannot go. Sorry. I'm goin to Minong Wisconsin. About 30 minutes away from Hayward.

 

Tim, a member of our Madison Hybrid Group would like to meet you folks at Oregon for the Event. He will be heading down to the event on Sunday. Do you have details where he can join guys?

He plans on coming from Janesville, WI and I'll tell you up front he is not a Prius owner, but an Insight owner.

sorry guys, i have been called in to work this weekend and won't be able to attend. i hope it goes really well! you can take me and my husband, brian, off the list.

 

Ha, forgot to post it, but couldn't be there today due to work...

 

Drifter and myself did well today, a lot of interest in our Prii. If you are coming drive straight past the white tent/canopy and then make the first left. Just past the building on your left will be a green Honda Insight, take a left at the Insight, we have staked out the back of the incline, it overlooks the parking lot. If you can, leave plenty of time to get there, took me 2 hours. Do mention that you are with the Chicago Prius Group at the entrance, they will let you in. Hope to see everyone tomorrow.

Hey group I'll give a final report on the Energy Fair after I get back from Dallas on Thursday. If anyone has pictures please post them.

Funny you should mention that. I was trying to figure out how to post a picture as you were writing.

I think there was a fair amount of interest in hybrids, Prius, "what makes it go", etc. on Sunday. I answered a few questions and went to some of the exhibits, but Wayne probably "sold" more than a few Prius in the Sunday crowd (and he handed out a ton of material); I dont think he took a break all day. I got a couple of shots early in the day before most of the folks came over.
