Reliability info on the Gen III Prius -- help make it happen

Looking forward to having an initial result in November, with a preview for participants in a couple of weeks. 67 owners signed up so far. A great start. The more owners participate, the better the information we can provide.

Those who are signed up--consider reporting some fuel economy results. We don't have many responses for the 2010:

We've had excellent participation in the reliability survey, and will have a result next month.

The gas mileage survey is optional, but more responses to it would be very helpful.

It's not a bug. We screen for addresses with terms like "spam" and "junk," since it suggests that someone wants access to the site's information without having to help make this information possible. Not always the case, of course, but I can manually enter the exceptions.

 

We'll have a result soon. Great participation by Prius III owners.

That said, the more owners participate, the better the information we can provide.

We'll be publicly releasing the results early next week--the first reliability stats anywhere for the Prius III.

92 owners signed up so far. An amazing start, but more is always better.

We're going to start providing new stats for the odds of requiring no repairs and the odds of getting a lemon. These require larger sample sizes, so additional participants would be helpful.

We've released a reliability stat for the redesigned 2010 Prius that includes owner experiences through September 30, 2009.

We had 61 responses, outstanding for such a new model. The reported repair rate of 8 repair trips per 100 cars per year is similar to those for the 2007-2009, and excellent for a redesigned model early in its first model year.

138 owners signed up so far for the 2010. An outstanding start, but five fewer than the 2010 Kia Soul!

 

Just enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record.

As always, more participants would be helpful.
