Completed install of the JVC KW-NT1. Was uneventful with all the advice on the board. Very impressed with the GPS and Bluetooth. PAC SWI-JACK install took patience, but working well now. AM reception is almost non-existent. I have checked antenna connection and FM seems fine. Has anyone else had this problem with a new HU? Has anyone had luck with any type of antenna booster?
I did know that I needed power to that. Is there a wire that I need to connect it to? I thought it was for a 'power antenna', but there must be an antenna amp.
Yeah, that is the word going on here... a guy found that the wire wasn't getting 12v and hooked up and it fixed his reception problem. Here is the thread. Read all the way through. I was going to do that last weekend myself but was out enjoying the weather instead.
I had the AM reception problem with my JVCNX7000 AM was working great then one day no AM just random noise and very weak reception. FM was still fine. Corrected problem by doing a Master Reset on the front panel of the HU then power off the radio, power off the car, restart the car and power on the radio. Don't know if all these steps are necessary but it corrected my AM problem. Still working like a charm. Good Luck, Jim P.S. You will loose all your presets when you do a master reset. NAV settings will be saved as they are on the Hard Drive
The Scosche (or whatever) Toyota adapter you used has a blue wire for "power antenna". It must be connected. In addition, some headunits have a software function for it. The Pioneer Z110 has a menu choice to power this pin "always", or only when you are playing radio. Connect it, and your problems should go away...
Did exactly as rrolff said and now my AM reception is excellent! Also, finally got my steering wheel controls programmed with the SW-JACK. My KW-NT1 installation is now officially complete. Thanks to everyone on the Board for the assistance.
